Tire for mixed terrain with new XC Race Formulation

Fast rolling, aggressive cornering, race-proven compound and casing construction – this is the tire for XC courses that mix hardpack with root lattices and the occasional rocky stretch. Now available in 2.4 option, and with black or brown sidewall colors, the Mezcal XC Race is engineered for pure XC speed, and its pedigree is proven with multiple UCI World Championships and XCO European Championships.

The continuous center line maintains fast-rolling contact, and its offset extensions are siped to multiply the number of leading and trailing edges, propelling you up the trail on climbs and increasing bite while braking. The rear siping on the shoulder knobs runs parallel to the trail with variable widths and open trailing edges, so the Mezcal corners fast on hard, slippery surfaces – despite being such a fast-rolling tire. For climbing, cornering, or careening down hill, no tire cooks like the Mezcal.

Technology explained

The Race Formulation employs Graphene + Silica compound, providing increased wet grip and suppleness, and combines a 60TPI Tubeless-Ready casing to optimize deformation. This combination has been shown to reduce rider fatigue while simultaneously increasing race-day reliability.

The new casing, new compound, and new size addition of Mezcal shows a 3% improvement in rolling performance compared to previous versions. When applied to a real-world scenario, this means that a Mezcal XC Race rider will gain up to ~.75 km/h of average speed over the course of the race. These benefits are in addition to an 11% increase in grip (especially in wet), and improved puncture resistance.

Good tires but no pressure chart

The tyres are great but I didn t received, not available a pressure chart for the tires.

New Mezcal XC Race

Absolutely in love with the new tyres. The mezcals are lightweight and fast rolling but yet offer great puncture protection. Love the new sidewall color as it’s a bit darker compared to the previous model and will likely age better and not show as much dirt or scuff marks.
The mezcal provide great traction on loose terrain, grass, roots, loose large rocks, mud and even work well on city pathways. I’m really impressed with the tyres.
My only wish is that I hope Vittoria offers this new sidewall in the more aggressive Barzo or Agarro tyres,as these two tyres will pair really well as a front tyre when the trail conditions get a bit more technical.

Best new formulation

I've been testing and it really is a great great improvement on the grip and general ride sensations! They just feel right. Congrats

These tires fly on the trails and crushed rock - perfect if you race cross country. The side walls are stiff enough to resist cutting in the rocks but soft enough to feel like added suspension on the trail.
