Bringing the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup race feeling to everyone
As partner of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, in the last three years Vittoria had the privilege to be present at every round, close to the best pro riders, teams & fans. Infused with the spirit of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Vittoria is now poised to share this experience with all mountain bike enthusiasts through the newly released UCI-licensed versions of Vittoria Barzo and Mezcal.
These two tire models have etched their mark in Vittoria’s history within the realm of mountain bike cross-country professional racing. Since their release, they have collected countless national and European titles. Notable victories include Jordan Sarrou’s 2020 UCI World Championship win for cross-country Olympic (XCO) on Barzo, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s UCI World Championship triumphs for XCO in 2015 on Barzo and 2022 on Mezcal, and Henrique Avancini’s 2023 UCI World title for cross-country marathon (XCM) on Mezcal, to highlight just a few iconic achievements.
Barzo & Mezcal performance tread designs packaged for sports & leisure mountain bikers
The newly introduced UCI-licensed tires feature the same high-performance tread designs of the Barzo & Mezcal high-end versions while using a robust and flexible Nylon 60 TPI casing, folding tubeless-ready bead, and a versatile yet durable, all-conditions rubber compound.
Barzo boasts an alternating ridge design and progressive sipe angles, with moto-style block knobs for adept cornering in a proven V-formation. The result is a tire that excels in both rolling speed and cornering ability while maintaining the attributes of a full-depth tread. Mezcal, on the other hand, features a unique low-profile tread that is tightly spaced in the center for low rolling resistance and enhanced durability. Countless effective edges work together to deliver superior grip on diverse terrains, while directional siping on each knob enhances traction in challenging conditions like roots and rocks.
The Barzo & Mezcal UCI-licensed editions introduce new options dedicated to all sports & leisure cross-country mountain bikers with the rainbow-colored swoosh and UCI logo applied on the tires’ sidewalls adding that stylish touch that will make these tires unique collectibles.
